The Dog Judges Association of America invited the IRWSA to join in their annual
two day breed presentation program held in conjunction with the
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in Madison Square Garden, New York City.
The IRWSA Judges Education Committee worked with the Irish Setter Club of America
Judges Education committee and held a " Setters of Ireland " - Comparison of the Irish Red
& White Setter to the Irish Setter. The presentation was a huge success and very well
attended by 46 AKC Judges, including many well respected AKC Sporting Judges.
A special thank you to Judges Education Chairperson Lee Robinson for coordinating the event,
Jean and Betty Nelson who flew in from Texas to present the program and spent many hours working
on the power point presentation and coordinating it with the Irish Setter presenter.
Held on Friday February 8, 2008, we had five IRWSA members with their dogs in attendance and
the Judges had the experience of seeing dogs and being able to complete a hands on examination
of the dogs. Chris, Tami and Zack Orcutt with Hogan and Kyla, Kathy Pellerito with Rosie and
Anna Jones with Alchemy. The dogs all took the big city in stride and represented the breed well.
It was a big honor to be invited.
