When we joined the club we were asked for a "new member" picture and introduction  I thought it was more appropriate to wait until we got our Irish Red and White Setter before sending in an introduction.

We got him!  Caniscaeli Eamon of the Hill.  We contacted Gail and Leslie Harrison of Canada and let them know what we wanted for a puppy (sex was open) and when they had  a puppy that they thought would be suitable for us to let us know.

I am happy to say that I drove to Canada, met Gail and Leslie and all of their wonderful Irish Red and White Setters (and one lovely senior English Setter) and got Eamon.  Eamon was a trooper on the 12 hour drive back to home in the United States and now is settling into the farm routine.

We are looking forward to participating in the IRWSA events, and in the AKC events, and if we should be so adventurous to go to Canada again - CKC events.

The picture is of Eamon with my 3 daughters Eileen (who is still a Junior Handler), Deidre, and Colleen.

Pat Boldt

Norco, CA

Owned by 6 Setters-ONE IRWS "Aussie."

I've been involved with Setters since childhood- more than 35 years.Irish Setters were the only breed of dog I had growing up in Midwest-Toledo,Ohio. I currently have 4 Irish Setters, one Gordon Setter and one IRWS.

Aussie,my male 5 year old IRWS came to me under some stressful conditions. He was a rehome and very timid when arriving. He's come a long way in the 3+ years of being here at Dubllin Meadows (www.dublinmeadows.com). He has his International title and we are currently working on Rally novice exercises.I'm hopeful he will be ready to compete soon.

I'm afraid it will have to wait a few months-as a litter of Irish pups are on the way and due 9/26!

Aussie likes laying stretched out on my bed all 4 paws to the ceiling. His best buddy is the old gal Jessica(9 years old)-my Irish grand dam.

Personally, my dogs and photography are my two main avocations! I am an avid reader of health issues in the setters and read traditional and alternative treatment protocols including herbal therapy and homeopathy. I let my dogs tell me what they want to do-each has a unique personality.So- I do conformation, obedience, rally, hunt tests and a little bit of backyard agility!

Mrs. Patricia Brigden

Thank you for the invitation to be placed on the Association website.

Here is a picture of the day I judged Crufts,

I am a long time fan of Irish Setters and have had them for nearly forty
years

I have had red and whites for 25 years, I was a very keen exhibitor and
breeder and have made up two champions in the UK, and have exported dogs
abroad resulting in two US champions, one Canadian champion, one New Zealand
champion and one Italian/International champion.
I am the author of the only book which is a definitive study of red and
whites.
Nowadays my main interest is in judging.
I have judged in several overseas countries and judge both the setters at
championship level, and all the other gundogs at open level. My husband and
I live in Surrey, which is about twenty miles South of London, and enjoy
walking our dogs in the lovely countryside around here. We have only two
now. Dogs have been the love of my life

Best wishes to all my friends in the United States
