Judge's Education Seminar Report

IRWSA, Inc. Breed Seminar

The second Irish Red and White Setter Association Breed Seminar of the year was held on Sunday, March 16th, 2008 at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, sponsored by the New England Sporting Group Association. Although a smaller group as compared to the last seminar held in New York, February, 2008 we had a very interested and responsive group of twelve in attendance, ten of which were AKC Sporting Judges.

Assisting me were IRWSA Members, Chris, Tamie and Zack Orcutt with there Red and Whites "Hogan" and "Kyla" for the hands on examination. The judges were very pleased to have had the opportunity to see and go over two quality representatives of the breed, asking many questions and to learn much about the Irish Red and White Setter. Attached is a letter from NESGA organizer and AKC Sporting Group Judge Betty Trainer summing up the feelings of the group.

Dear Lee,

I just wanted to thank you personally, as well as on behalf of the New England Sporting Dog Association for giving a seminar on the Irish Red and White Setter at our recent Sporting Group show. We appreciate it very much and all who attended were so pleased to be able to go over the dogs and ask all their questions! I am enclosing a copy of the sign-in sheet for your information as well as your parent club records.

Thank you so much for all you do for this lovely breed in helping us to understand it.

  Sincerely, Betty Trainor
