While growing up in the North Woods of Minnesota, I hunted with Labs, Retrievers, and Spaniels; advancing to pointing dogs in my early twenties. My love of the Irish Red Setter grew during the 60's when I owned and showed Am/Can Champion Draherin Lady Love, handled for other gun dog friends, and became Director of show training for our Kennel Club. During those years, I also owned and operated a 50n run commercial dog kennel, and started the Irish Setter Club of Northern Minnesota.

Upon hearing of the legend of the superb "pot dog" hunting Irish Red and White Setter, my wife and I decided to go to Ireland in 1977, in search of the breed. We met and shared many visits with Maureen Cuddy, just outside Cork, and studied the breed and its history through her, Father Doherty, and the source our first import, Lougherne Harvest, from Vincent Brennan in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. Father Doherty furnished our foundation bitch, Sheebhin Grainne, a year later, and over the next decade, we added imports from these dear friends. Recently Ann Miller sent our newest pup, Mizen Gael Tegan to us, our of her Mizen Just Juno, bred to Dalriach Lord Decider, "Cuddy". We Have also imported a fine bitch, United Spots Night Breeze, from Fiorella Mathis in Italy. We now have ten Red and Whites, and have bred several outstanding dogs that are being hunted on pheasants, ruffed grouse, woodcock, and quail. We started our showing activity at the National in New Jersey in 2004.

Our mission is "back to the future" with a continuance of breeding and placement by using Mrs. Cuddy's philosophy6 of each pup to the very best home available, securing first, the top quality guy dog. We are dedicated to honoring the best Irish breeding of the past by using the best practices for the future of the pure breed in North America.
