Hello I’m Chris Orcutt I grew up in a farming community in upstate New York and I have always had a dog as long as I can remember.   My very first dog was an English Setter named Freckles.  Over the years my wife Tami and I have had several Setters.  We currently live in Portland, CT  with our most recent cast of characters including a Gordon Setter (Moses), Irish Setter (Noah), Field Style English Setter (Jack) and three Irish Red and White Setters (Abe, Hogan and Kyla).  We became interested in IRWS, because despite being an old breed there was no split between show style and field style dogs.  We liked the idea of an all around dog that has the ability to hunt as well as show in the breed ring.  In addition to that they are just fun dogs to have as companions.   We currently show our dogs in the breed ring as well as participate in Hunt Tests. As I serve on the board of the IRWSA, I have a keen interest in maintaining IRWS as an all around dog who will happily go from the breed ring, to the field, to the couch all in the same day.  It is a privilege and an honor to serve a board member of the IRWSA.
