2003 Hunt Test

2003 Second Independent IR&WSA, Inc Hunt Test Report

What could be more fun than watching Irish Red & White Setters racing through the fields in search of game birds.. Well on Saturday , September 20th at the beautiful Cindy Lockhart Farm on a hill top in Cutler, Ohio we saw just that & more.
We had an entry of four braces with seven IR&Ws running the Junior Hunt Course for most this was their first time on birds and what fun it was to see the natural instincts come alive..For others they gave the gallery a real show.. Working the field finding and pointing the birds until the flush and the gun was shot, than off for the chase, which a Junior dog can do without a penalty.
Three IR&WS received qualifying scores two of which are owned and handled by Susan Hoppe of Bloomington IN. Can. Ch. Caniscaeli Singing In the Rain, AKA Ciaran and Crossfire Tumblin Tumbleweed, AKA Tweed and Dalriach Alchemy owned and handled by Anna Jones of Pittstown, NJ. With more exposure to birds and more handling experience for their owners the following IR&Ws will just fine in future tests.
Can. Ch. Aisling Cudo IS Rosin NA Laio, owned and handled by Kathy Pellerito of Brick, NJ, ARBA Ch, Ardbraccan Grainne owned and handled by Debbie Cournyer of West Kingston, RI, Aisling Cudo Treasa owned and handled by Jane Benedetto of Voluntown, CT and Robi Lee Sky Hawk handled by Norma Woods and owned by Wayne Robinson of Mason, NH.
Several of the above dogs did well in both Specialties and in Obedience, once again proving the Irish Red & White Setter is truly a dual dog
AKC Hunt Test Judge Paul Paquin of Attica MI had a wonderful time judging and was very impressed with the working abilities of the breed.
